CONSERVATION SERVICE AND FEES


NCS PROFESSIONAL CONSERVATION SERVICES

SERVICE FEE PER COIN DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
EVALUATION 1% of declared value* per coin, minimum $5
  Evaluation is the first step in the conservation process. During the evaluation process, a determination is made as to what, if any, conservation will be undertaken. Coins deemed not suitable for conservation will only be charged this amount and returned to the submitter if previously certified. Raw coins will be forwarded to the appropriate NCS-approved grading service for encapsulation if the “submit all coins for grading” option is marked on the submission form. Additional fees apply for encapsulation.
       
CONSERVATION 4% of declared value* up to $150,000 per coin, 2% of declared value* over $150,000 per coin, $15 minimum fee   Appropriate conservation work is performed. After conservation, coins will be submitted to the appropriate NCS- approved grading service if requested. Additional fees apply for encapsulation. NCS reserves the right to make the final decision as to the best conservation treatment.
       
WALKTHROUGH $100 per coin   Applies to all coins on an invoice. Same-day turnaround dependent on the volume of work at NCS at the time of submission. This fee is in addition to standard certification fees.
       
EXPEDITE $50 per coin   If selected, all coins on an invoice will be put to the front of the conservation line. Turnaround time is based on the quantity of work at the time of submission. This fee is in addition to the standard fees.
       
MODERN TIER $22.50   Submit any uncertified US or World coin struck from 1970 to present. One flat fee includes conservation by NCS and NGC certification. Following conservation, coins are transferred to NGC where they are graded and encapsulated in the NGC holder. Not genuine coins or coins with altered dates or mintmarks will be returned uncertified. Maximum value $3,000 per coin.
       

NGC Oversize Holder fee of $25 per coin applies to coins over 45 mm in diameter.
*Declared value MUST represent fair market value (FMV) and NCS reserves the right to make adjustments for under-valued items.

       
       
SERVICE OPTIONS FEE PER COIN   DESCRIPTION OF OPTIONAL SERVICE
INTERNET IMAGING $3 per coin   Digital imaging for coins submitted under any of its grading and service tiers at $3 per coin. Applies to all coins on the invoice. Image consists of an accurate Internet-resolution “JPG” image of the NGC coin holder’s obverse and reverse.

Applicable grading fees   If selected, all coins on the invoice will be submitted to NGC. Previously certified coins will be transferred only if they have been removed from their original holders and conserved. Standard NGC grading fees apply.
