Q. I have a nice Morgan except that it has been cleaned. It is a Hot 50 VAM and I would like it encapsulated. If I submit under NGC variety designation and choose the option for NCS to detail grade if bagged, will the VAM designation show up on the NCS holder? Or would my best route be to submit to NCS directly for authentication and details grading only?

A. If you believe there may be a reason for your coin to "no grade" with NGC, but would like it in an NCS Details holder, we recommend submitting it for NCS Details grading. In addition, you may choose the Variety Plus service for the top 50 VAM attribution with NCS just as with NGC. If your coin does meet the surface standards for regular NGC grading, it will be certified by NGC.
