Conservation Showcase: Off Center 1941 Dime
Posted on 5/31/2010
A recent example from our conservation laboratory.
This off-center Mercury Dime was submitted to NCS in order to correct some of the dreadful toning that had developed on both obverse and reverse. The mottled deep brown is not seen as an attractive color. After careful conservation, the coin is bright yet with a pleasing look. The coin was able to grade numerically with NGC after the conservation.
