Conservation Showcase: 1921 10c
Posted on 1/30/2012
A recent example from our conservation laboratory
Even circulated coins can benefit from conservation. This 1921 Dime, though well circulated, does have significant value as a key date piece in the Mercury Dime series. The conservators with NCS were able to remove much of the odd brown residues on both sides of this Dime while retaining a natural look of a circulated silver coin. Following the conservation this coin was able to grade numerically with NGC.
